Through a set of pilot projects, SCHIEx has established a proven track record of using state-of-the-art information privacy and security standards to equip health care providers with effective technology tools they can use to improve care for their patients.

AccessHealth SC:
An initiative supported by The Duke
Endowment that enables communities to develop coordinated networks of
care to better meet the needs and coordinate the medical care for
patients currently without health insurance.

Connecting the Communities of Care:
An initiative supported by the Blue
Cross Blue Shield Foundation that enables Community Health Centers,
free clinics and Rural Health Clinics to share key clinical information
to better serve and address the chronic care needs of their shared
patient population.

Duke Telepyschiatry Project:
An initiative supported by The Duke
Endowment that enables hospital emergency departments to gain access
to critical behavioral health consulting services.

Lakelands Rural Health Network:
An initiative involving 4 hospitals and
over 20 primary care providers across a six-county area, who are
working together using Lakelands Connect to share key clinical
information in an effort to improve the health of their shared patient
population. They have a special emphasis on diabetes care.

SCDHHS SCHIEx Viewer:
An initiative supported by SC Department of
Health and Human Services that enables health care providers who serve
patients with Healthy Connections Medicaid insurance to view medical
claims data, contributing to a more complete medical history for their
patients.
