1. What kind of security does the Viewer system use?
The Viewer system employs a series of both electronic and physical security measures to protect sensitive information.
User ID and Password
Each user creates a custom user ID, instead of a Social Security Number or National Provider Identifier, and a personalized password. Together they provide secure, audited, encrypted access Viewer information.
Timed Log-Off
The Viewer system automatically logs you off after a period of inactivity. This reduces the risk that others could access your information from your unattended computer.
Audit
All activity in the Viewer system is recorded for auditing purposes and reviewed regularly to enforce usage policies.
Firewalls
All our computer systems are protected by firewalls that prevent unauthorized access to our networks.
Encryption
The Viewer employs strong 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt all data from the point it leaves your computer until it enters our systems, and vice-versa.
2. How is data usage tracked?
All access and usage of the Viewer system is logged and these log files are then stored offsite in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
3. How frequently is data in the Viewer updated?
Client demographics are updated within 48 hours, and new claims are available approximately 1 week after the claim is paid. Providers are updated monthly.
4. Where is the data stored?
All Viewer data is stored in ORS's secure data warehouse. Data is backed up on a regular schedule and sent offsite to a secure warehouse for data recovery.
5. Can the Viewer be accessed anywhere?
The Viewer system is a web application which allows it to be accessed anywhere an internet connection is available.
